Merve Yorulmaz has been working as a scientist in the Competence Center “Policy and Society” at the Fraunhofer ISI in Karlsruhe, Germany since 2019. Her work focuses on the analysis and evaluation of research, technology and innovation policy measures and transformation processes at the intersection of society, economy and policy. She is mainly involved in Horizon 2020 projects in the field of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) – research that is aligned with societal needs and expectations – and Diversity and Gender Equality in R&I Systems. Most recently, she was involved in the EU project EFFORTI – Evaluation Framework for Promoting Gender Equality in R&I (2016-2019) and is currently involved in numerous EU projects which aim to foster excellence in science and innovation through Responsible Research, e.g. NewHoRRIzon (2017-2021). Prior to her work at Fraunhofer, she gained project experience in the field of Business Development, Consulting and Diversity Management, supporting the diversity officer of a large German financial services provider to attract more women to the male-dominated sales and finance sector and stimulate organizational change. She holds a Master’s degree in Management, Culture Studies and Linguistics from the University of Mannheim, where she worked as a Linguistics tutor and research assistant at the Chair of Business Administration, Leadership and Human Resources Management.
