Mary Kinahan


Dr. Mary Kinahan is an organisational psychologist and lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at TU Dublin. Mary is a SAT member for the Athena Swan Bronze Award committee in Dublin Institute of Technology and is currently involved in various gender focused projects, such as DIAMOND (H2020), and in supervising PhD candidates in gender focused areas.

Mary completed her PhD in Organisational and Social Psychology at DCU Business School in November 2013. Her paper entitled “Hierarchy Enhancing vs. Hierarchy Attenuating: Do men and women differ in their preferences for leadership roles” was a finalist for best paper at the 16th Congress of EAWOP in Munster, Germany. Mary was supervised by Dr. Janine Bosak and collaborated with Professor Alice H. Eagly of Northwestern University, USA.
Mary is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); European Association of Work and Organisational Psycholgy (EAWOP), the European Association of Social Psychology (EASP) and Psychology Society of Ireland (PSI).

Mary’s research interest reside in the domains of both organisational and social psychology.
Research Interests include: Women and Leadership, Stereotyping and Discrimination in Organizations, Diversity Management, and Emotional Labour.
