Maria Lopez Belloso


María López Belloso ( is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Deusto. She holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Human Rights earned at the same University. Her thesis on Truth, justice and reparation processes for victims of forced disappearance in Western Sahara received the Brunet Award in 2017. She has a solid background in research, both in scientific production and in research management, as well as teaching experience in the Faculty of Law of the UPV-EHU. The focus of her research is on the conflict in Western Sahara, which has addressed from different perspectives such as Local Human Development or gender equality, but mainly from the perspective of human rights, specifically from the rights of victims of forced disappearance, and transitional justice.
