Lidia Rodriguez Fernández


Lidia Rodríguez Fernández was born in 1968 in Valencia (Spain), and lives with her husband in Bilbao since 1998. She is Bachelor Degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Valencia (1991) and Doctorate Theology from the University of Deusto in Bilbao (2015).
Former Baptist minister (1999-2015), she taught at the Protestant Faculty of Theology (UEBE) form 2015 to 2020. She began as assistant professor in 2006 in the University of Deusto and is currently Professor at the Faculty of Theology, and the Faculty of Psychology and Education. She is member of the Spanish Biblical Association (ABE), Spanish Theologians Association (ATE) and the European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies (ESITIS).
Her main interests are feminist biblical interpretation and cultural studies. Her last publications are: “La construcción de la autoridad de las primeras mujeres de la Reforma”, in Reforma y reformas en la Iglesia (Bilbao 2018) pp.81-105; “La Biblia según Hollywood”, Reseña Bíblica (2018), pp.12-24; “Ellas también cuentan: Sara y Agar en los orígenes de Israel”, Reseña Bíblica (2019), pp.45-54.
